it’s time again.

Thanksgiving. Not bad. Did the tree, lights, etcs. Time off was nice, and spent yesterday in DMV and Revenue lines to get my car all legal-fied again. The Inspection was out, since I had the windshield replaced, and the tags were expired so I had to pay the taxes before I got those fixed. Mundane buracraptastic, but I haven’t rid myself of the commute yet, so what to do?
Did Harry Potter last last weekend, which just a little hiccup, but it was cool to see Pom-Pom, disasters aside. Books are still the best, and the films haven’t yet excelled at the form of adaptation. Movie itself has the nagging trait of making me sort of angry everytime I think of it in detail, but on the whole, what was there wasn’t too bad. Except for Steve Kloves- I’m done with him.

Dear Santa,
Please stop Steve Kloves from getting work.
Thanks, Nicolle.

That said, I fear for books 5 & 6; and patiently await publication of book 7. God save JK Rowling.
Have become addicted to:

It’s like my new popcorn. Except that I don’t like popcorn, and generally most people don’t eat popcorn everyday. So maybe it’s more like a drug habit, especially since it can be sort of painful to munch on these delicious, delicious demon treats. God save the Japanese- they have the best snacks.
This new addiciton was brought about by Cory and Mary, who got me some earlier in the year, and which I ate just slightly past the expiration date. They were still tasty. So then, like any other junkie, I needed more, so Bart and I hit up the A&C Supermarket- which is the Asian Grocer. I’ve been wanting to go there anyway, because I’ve become enamored with the idea that Chinese buns are like manna from heaven and give you kung fu powers cause all the anime and action flicks have characters going crazy over the steamed buns. So we go to get my steamed buns and the wasabi peas and wander all around the strange and unusual severed fish-head section. I can smell it now, I don’t think I shall ever be able to forget it. That’s culture clash for you, although I can’t really think of any staple of the american diet that would smell bad to asians, where the fish reeks to me. Maybe garlic, to me it smell good, but maybe to my eastern friends it reeks. Who knows? But it’s all good, because now I have an unlimited source of wasabi peas and severed fish heads if the need arises. They also had eels, so if you need some, I got the hook-up.
My Xmas tree needs some candy canes and will then be ready for DOOM! Expect pictures at my leisure. And since it is holiday season, those who know me well should also be expecting this next bit- Once again, it is time for the most holy of holys- the eggnog! This year I will be taking a census of the amount of eggnog consumed; sort of like when you’re in college and you collect all your beer caps or bottles or whatever and make some sort of shrine to the debauchery and liver damage you’ve managed to accrue. Except this will have the added bonus of artery AND liver damage! God save the Eggnog!
And last but not least, Nickel and Dime is rounding out the first draft. I will reach ‘The End’ before the last minutes of November- clocking the first draft at roughly a year, which is kinda pathetic, to be perfectly honest. During my turkey-days-off I actually got about 50+ pages of work done, including some draft/revision on existing pages, but it’s right at 135 pages. A lot of the end is kinda fatty and needs some major trimming and revision, but I’m just happy to be at where I’m at. My head exploded somewhere back at page 43. Now to dig back in for revisions, and the Xmas break should help with that. Readers welcome.
Okay, done babbling now, need to go home for my wasabi pea fix. Or maybe some falafel, I could soooo do some falafel for dinner. House and NCIS tonight.
